Whole-Person Wellness

For me, personal training extends beyond physical exercise to recognizing each person as a whole being with many interconnected parts. Each part is affected by the others, so an attempt to make changes in one will by definition impact the other areas. Utilizing a tool called The Wellness Wheel, we will work together to examine each segment and assess strengths, weaknesses, and possible changes that will help you on your journey to wellness.

Assessments of your current fitness level, your biometrics, your dietary intake, and your general health will help me to help you set attainable goals in your fitness journey. I will educate you in science-backed truths, encourage you every step of the way, and empower you to continue on your path to success all on your own!

My Story

My journey into the world of fitness began with a desire to improve my own quality of life in college and quickly turned to helping others get fit. I wanted to better understand the psychology behind motivation and change, so I completed my BA in counseling psychology at Dallas Baptist University. I took a detour to raise a family and eventually found myself in my late 30's and very out of shape. I joined a weight loss program at a local fitness center, and again found my love of getting in shape while helping others. I attended Cooper Institute in Dallas, Texas and received certifications in Personal Training, Wellness Coaching, and Nutrition. I began my formal career in this field in 2009, working in a variety of settings. I returned to graduate school in 2013 to earn a master's in human resource development from the University of Texas at Tyler to further my knowledge and skills in teaching, training, coaching, and understanding the process of change in individuals, teams, and organizations. Over the years, these passions have been expressed in various jobs from helping teens on probation to complete education and find a career, to leading small groups of women in church settings to grow both spiritually and in fitness, to, most recently, leading the vocational development team in a men's long-term recovery program at a homeless shelter. I decided to turn my attention back to health and wellness as I am again pursuing my own fitness and to use my experience, knowledge, and skills to help others become fit and well. No matter what age you are or level of fitness you currently hold, I am excited to partner with you to help you reach the next level of fitness and to find a renewed sense of empowerment in your life.
